You want to plan your own wedding. Good — plenty of people do it beautifully. What you’re missing isn’t taste, it’s the order things go in, and what a supplier’s quote doesn’t tell you. That I can hand over in a couple of sessions.
What you leave with
Everything below is written down and yours to keep. None of it is advice you have to remember from a conversation.
What has to be decided by when, counting back from your date. This alone prevents most of the panic.
How a wedding of your size and place usually divides up, so you can see early whether the numbers work at all.
What’s missing from most of them, which extras appear later, and the questions to ask before signing anything.
Names worth contacting for your area and budget, with what each is good at. You approach them directly, as yourself.
One idea to hold everything together, with palette and materials, so your choices don’t drift apart over a year.
A model timeline for the wedding itself: when suppliers arrive, how long things actually take, where the day usually slips.
How it works
In person if you’re nearby, on a call if you’re not. Both work — the documents are the same either way.
01
Two hours. Where you are, what you’ve decided, what you’re stuck on. I ask a lot of questions, several of which nobody has asked you yet.
02
A fortnight to build your timeline, budget structure, shortlists and design direction around your actual date and place — not a template.
03
We go through all of it together so you know how to use it. Then it’s yours, and you get on with it without me.
Honestly
It works well if
You’re marrying somewhere you know, with suppliers you can meet in person.
You have up to about a hundred and twenty guests and one venue.
You enjoy this kind of thing, or at least don’t dread it.
You have twelve months or more, and time in your week to spend on it.
Your budget is tight enough that a planning fee would come out of the wedding itself.
Think again if
You’re planning from another country, or in a region you don’t know.
The day moves between several venues, or runs across a whole weekend.
There are more than two hundred guests, or serious family diplomacy involved.
Your date is under eight months away and nothing is booked.
The idea of chasing eleven suppliers by email already makes you tired.
Investment
From €600
Covers both sessions and the documents. Nothing else to pay, and nothing recurring.
The fee doesn’t scale with your budget: preparing this takes the same time whether you’re spending fifteen thousand or fifty. What moves it is distance, and how much genuine research your date and place need — and I’ll tell you before we start rather than after.
If you decide halfway through the year that you’d rather hand the rest over, the fee comes off the planning or coordination price. Nobody pays twice for the same conversation.
